Assistant Director, NCCN Foundation
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will report to and assist the Director to assure the strong and continued growth of the NCCN Foundation. Assistant Director will participate in the program, financial, and administrative management of the Foundation. Assistant Director will assist in planning, execution, and evaluation of an effective development program that responds to the needs defined by senior leadership and the Foundation Board of Directors. This position will require occasional overnight travel.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Director and others in senior management to assure that the Foundation has a long-range strategy which achieves its mission and is integrated with and supports the long-range goals of NCCN
- Develop program, organizational, and financial plans with the Director and NCCN senior leadership and staff to generate private support from corporations and other organizations. Implement plans and policies authorized by the Foundation Board of Directors
- Provide day-to-day management of the operations of the Foundation, including planning and monitoring activities, providing operational and budget support, recording gifts, and acknowledging donors
- Develop, with the Director and others, detailed gift opportunities suited to the interests of potential corporate and foundation donors
- Cultivate and establish strategic alliances with other cancer-related organizations and funders that will benefit NCCN and produce new funding opportunities
- Participate in the process of research, identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate and foundation donors and donor prospects
- Propose fundable concepts that support current or projected programs of the Foundation for presentation to corporate prospects
- Communicate with constituents and maintain positive working relationships with corporate entities and corporate foundation leaders, donors, prospective donors, oncology community, Foundation Board members, and NCCN staff
- Make formal presentations to past, present and potential donors as well as the Foundation Board
- Establish sound working relationships with patient advocacy organizations, foundations, and corporations
- Publicize the activities of the Foundation and its programs and goals
Collaborate with NCCN staff on the development of appropriate grant applications to corporate foundations
- Prepare written proposals and/or special materials for use in corporate solicitations
- Cultivate Foundation Board member involvement in corporate prospect identification, development, and gift solicitation
- Develop and manage the planning, organization, and implementation of cultivation strategies for selected corporate and foundation donor prospects
- Determine and recommend appropriate recognition and stewardship plans
- Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in oncology
- Perform other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred in areas such as business, health care, or related field
- Minimum of four years of successful experience in fundraising or related field Experience working with boards is highly desirable
- Strong preference will be given to those candidates that have oncology fundraising experience

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with diverse individuals
- Exceptionally high level of interpersonal skills and relationship-building ability
- Skilled planner
- Attention to detail, follow-up, and timeliness
- Demonstrated ability to make complex decisions, problem solve, and practice hands-on management
- Experience in or knowledge of pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, patient advocacy organizations, and foundations
- Productive track record in corporate and foundation giving, corporate relations, or related work in industry (e.g., sales and marketing, corporate relations)

Clinical Data Entry Associate
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is position responsible for supporting the Guidelines Program through the migration of clinical data into customized software and/or various computer applications. This position will reformat Guidelines information for various outputs. This work is completed in collaboration with NCCN Clinical Information staff.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurate transposition of information from the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®) into a customized system
- Reformatting and transferring NCCN Guidelines information into alternate outputs including but not limited to PDF files, slides and various publication formats
- Perform other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in science or health-related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience with data entry and formatting in a variety of computer applications
- Experience with medical copyediting or medical terminology, especially oncology, a plus
- Experience working in EndNote, Corel Draw and/or Adobe Acrobat a plus
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies
- Strong proofreading capabilities and attention to detail
