NCCN is pleased to launch the NCCN Guidelines Update Webinar Series™, a new educational initiative designed to quickly communicate updates to the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology™ via free 45-minute webinars. The inaugural NCCN Guidelines Webinar will focus on recent updates made to the NCCN Guidelines for Kidney Cancer and will feature Robert A. Figlin, MD, from City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The webinar will consist of a 5 minute introduction, 20 minute presentation on the updates to the NCCN Guidelines by Dr. Figlin, a 15 minute question and answer period, and 5 minute closing. Four webinars have been scheduled at varying times to provide a greater number of clinicians with access to this important clinical information and allow for a convenient learning platform with no associated travel fees.
The webinars are scheduled for:
Significant updates to the NCCN Guidelines for Kidney Cancer will be presented including comparison of new data with existing standards of care, involved patient subsets, and risk-benefit analysis in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease as well as a review of the significant studies that supported modification of the NCCN Guidelines Panels’ recommendations.
NCCN recognizes the need for continuing medical education based on the NCCN Guidelines given the rapidly changing scientific and clinical environment, which represents a daunting challenge for any practitioner. The NCCN Guidelines Update Webinar Series provides CME credit for both physicians and nurses. Keeping up with research is not only a matter of remaining current about scientific concepts. Clinical research presented at scientific meetings directly affects how oncologists manage patients. Through familiarity with up-to-date guidelines, as well as interpretation and commentary by thought leaders, practitioners can learn to incorporate new cancer treatment strategies and regimens into their community practices.
