NCCN Faculty and Korean Oncologists Meet in Seoul to Revise Korea Editions of the NCCN Guidelines

On December 4, 2009, faculty from the NCCN Guidelines Panels for Breast Cancer and Rectal Cancer met with Korea Edition panel members and oncologists in Seoul, Korea in a forum to discuss the revision of Korea Editions of the NCCN Guidelines. The two-part symposium included discussions on rectal cancer and breast cancer. Dr. Alan P. Venook, Professor of Clinical Medicine at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and an NCCN Guidelines in Oncology™ for Rectal Cancer Panel Member provided an update on current NCCN Guidelines. Dr. Robert Carlson of Stanford Cancer Institute and chair of the NCCN Guidelines Panel for Breast Cancer led afternoon discussions on recent updates to the NCCN Guidelines for Breast Cancer.

Currently, Korea Editions of the NCCN Guidelines for non-small cell lung cancer and for colon cancer are available. Korea Editions of the NCCN Guidelines for breast cancer and rectal cancer will be published in 2010 based on the outcome of the December 4 discussions.
