The information products of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) detail recommendations for the appropriate management of a broad array of tumor types. These evidence-based recommendations have great credibility and influence over clinical decisions, coverage policies, quality evaluation tools, etc. In addition to the extensive assets of expertise and evaluative information, NCCN possesses capabilities and functions that provide insight and answers important to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, financial firms, consulting companies, payors, etc. NCCN recognizes that, ultimately, the sharing of NCCN expertise and information assets in a collaborative manner can facilitate the technology transfer process, ultimately benefiting patients whom we all serve.
The following provides a brief description of products and services available through the NCCN ARC Program.
NCCN Oncology Outcomes Database: The NCCN Oncology Outcomes Database contains expansive data on drug/biologic and diagnostics utilization and trends; specific indications and sequencing; toxicity and reasons for discontinuation; complications and medical events; progression free and overall survival; comparative effectiveness and resource consumption, and payor-specific data.
The NCCN Database is unique by any measure. The collection of more than 300 data elements fully describes all clinical interventions as patient subpopulations are followed longitudinally along the continuum of care. The available data is of clinical trial quality based upon many internal checks, assiduous control of data collection, onsite quality audits, etc. The Database operations are fully HIPAA compliant. Databases in operation are in Breast, Colon/Rectal, Non-Small Cell Lung, and Ovarian Cancers and in the Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphomas. New databases can be made available upon request and support.
NCCN Trends™ Surveys & Data: NCCN Trends™ is an analytic survey tool that takes advantage of the fact that within a span of every two weeks almost all clinical decision-makers in oncology in the United States visit the NCCN website. Combine that with the fact that there are over 80,000 clinicians registered as users from outside the United States, and one has access to the thinking, judgments and needs of clinicians around the globe.
NCCN Trends obtains data on clinician therapeutic and prescription preferences. Additionally, NCCN Trends collects information on the views of clinicians regarding issues, regulations and policies impacting the practice of oncology. Beginning September 15, NCCN independent survey results will be available for purchase online in both direct question and complex analyses formats. Further, companies may customize and obtain complex survey results for their company only. Country-specific (e.g., China) foreign language surveys are also available.
NCCN Insights Reports: NCCN Insights Reports provide in-depth environmental scans of decision-making processes that impact the appropriate utilization of drugs, biologics and devices in cancer care. NCCN Insights provide an inside look into the thinking and perspectives of clinician leaders on the amount and types of data and information that convince such leaders that specific recommendations about these drugs, biologics and devices are, indeed, appropriate. Such Insights are essential for the design of trials, observational studies, etc. to assure that the necessary data is generated to fulfill the analytic needs of key decision-makers. NCCN also organizes and holds a variety of advisory boards, focus groups, etc.
NCCN Flash Updates: NCCN Flash Updates provide timely access to changes and updates in the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines™), NCCN Drugs & Biologics Compendium (NCCN Compendium™) and other information products that are used extensively by payors and clinicians. The Flash Updates eliminate the need to continually search NCCN documents. Through this subscription service, NCCN delivers the information directly to you at the very moment the changes go public.
NCCN Consulting: NCCN provides direct consulting services in the form of data analyses, clinical evaluation, pipeline review, coverage and benefit policy analysis, regulatory review, program (e.g., disease management) design and development, etc. NCCN is happy to bring our broad and deep expertise in oncology to you.
Your Viewpoint: NCCN wants to hear from you about your information needs. We want to know what type of content and which formats are most useful to you.
