NCCN Flash Update: NCCN Guidelines Updated

*Editor's Comment: The NCCN Guidelines™ for Antiemesis Version 2.2011 and Version 3.2011 were updated on January 21, 2011 and February 7, 2011 respectively. The current update is Version 3.2011.

NCCN has published updates to the NCCN Guidelines for Antiemesis. These NCCN Guidelines are currently available as Version 2.2011.

Intravenous (IV) dolasetron was removed due to the FDA safety announcement regarding risk for cardiac complications; however, oral dolasetron remains in the NCCN Guidelines for Antiemesis.

NCCN has published updates to the NCCN Guidelines for Antiemesis. These NCCN Guidelines are currently available as Version 3.2011.

  • The algorithm for high emetic risk intravenous chemotherapy was revised to include a dose change for dexamethasone when fosaprepitant 150 mg IV is chosen as the NK-1 antagonist.
  • The discussion section of the NCCN Guidelines for Antiemesis has been updated to correspond with the treatment algorithms.
