The NCCN 2011 Congress Series: Genitourinary Cancers™ took place on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York, NY. This full-day Congress comprised more than 360 registrants, including expert oncologists, urologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals interested in understanding the most up-to-date treatment recommendations in the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®) for genitourinary cancers.
The Congress presented an in-depth analysis of the evidence and clinical decision-making that led to the development of the NCCN Guidelines® for bladder, kidney, prostate, and testicular cancers, collectively the genitourinary cancers. Speakers at the Congress included esteemed faculty experts from the following NCCN Member Institutions: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, and Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Attendees of the Congress learned how to implement the recommendations within the NCCN Guidelines into their practices and gained understanding of the most up-to-date treatment recommendations for bladder, kidney, prostate, and testicular cancers. During the Congress, case studies were presented to provide an interactive learning environment, which included audience response questions. Extended question-and-answer sessions were also featured where attendees were able to discuss their topics openly with the presenters.
