The 2012 ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) Annual Meeting was held June 1 – 5, 2012, at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, and featured abstracts and presentations by staff from the National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) Outcomes Research group along with NCCN Member Institutions including The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins; Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University; H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute; The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute; UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center; Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center | Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center; The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; Duke Cancer Institute; and Fox Chase Cancer Center. Research topics included "Prevalence of functional tumors in neuroendocrine carcinoma: An analysis from the NCCN NET database", "MET and ALK in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM): Comparison of IHC and FISH", and "The 2010 National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) risk assessment and genetic counseling (RA/GC) study: Operational aspects of RA/GC programs at academic medical centers". Beginning with this issue, eBulletin will highlight these research topics presented at ASCO.
