This Thursday: What You Always Wanted to Know about NCCN
Kelly C. Simpson, Manager, Global Initiatives, Editor, eBulletin: International Edition
On December 15, 2011 at 3:00 PM EST, National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) Chief Executive Officer Bill McGivney, PhD, and Senior Vice President of Clinical Information and Publications Joan McClure, MS, will host the first ever live webinar dedicated to addressing questions about NCCN processes, products, and influence, along with anything else you always wanted to know about NCCN. The webinar: NCCN Guidelines and NCCN Compendium Content, Processes, Policy Influence, and Future Products will comprise a 30-minute presentation followed by equal time for questions and answers.
NCCN receives inquiries from around the world about the development, application, and spheres of influence of the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®). Frequently, NCCN is asked to specify and explain the full development process, how the NCCN Guidelines® are used by clinicians in the oncology arena, how updates are made so quickly, how external input can be provided, and how the NCCN Categories of Consensus are determined and what they mean.
Also on the minds of interested parties are how and to what extent the NCCN Guidelines and NCCN Drugs & Biologics Compendium (NCCN Compendium®) are utilized by payors and influence coverage policy and precertification processes, how the guidelines are integrated into decision-assist tools, how quality measures are derived and evaluated, and what new products and applications are in development at NCCN. These issues and more will be addressed and explored during the webinar. Please join us and ask the executives your burning questions about NCCN.
