Patricia J. Goldsmith Joins National Comprehensive Cancer Network as Senior Vice President, Business Development, Public Affairs and Policy

JENKINTOWN, PA, January 18, 2005 – William T. McGivney, Ph.D., CEO of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), announces that Patricia J. Goldsmith has joined NCCN as senior vice president for business development, public affairs and policy. McGivney stated that Goldsmith's responsibilities will include establishing relationships with employers, employer groups, managed care companies and other national organizations. In addition, she will work to enhance the visibility of NCCN programs among a variety of constituencies in the nation's health care system.

Goldsmith formerly served as vice president for institutional development, public affairs and marketing at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, Florida, one of the NCCN's member institutions. She began her career at Moffitt in 1995 as vice president for managed care and business development, followed by a dual role as vice president for Moffitt's foundation, while also overseeing its national managed care, public relations and marketing functions. Before joining Moffitt, she developed and directed all managed care activities of the University of South Florida College of Medicine.

A frequent speaker at national meetings and symposia, Goldsmith was chosen by U. S. Representative Bill McCollum (R-Fl) in 2003 to join 100 leaders representing every stakeholder interest in health care in a unique effort to find consensus on what structural changes could be made in our nation's health care delivery system to assure quality health care for future generations.
