NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology Symposium: Kidney Cancer – New Paradigms for the Management of Unresectable and Recurrent Renal Cell CarcinomaPresenter Sandy Srinivas, MD Faculty Disclosure Statement Dr. Srinivas has disclosed that she has financial interests, arrangements, or affiliations with the manufacturer of products and devices to be discussed in her presentation or who may financially support the educational activity. Program Overview Patients with kidney cancer traditionally have not had many treatment choices. Surgery and/or difficult to tolerate immunotherapy was all that was available. Because few early symptoms are visible, patients are often diagnosed late with advanced disease. With the FDA approvals of new agents for renal cell carcinoma, a paradigm shift has occurred in the way patients with renal cell carcinomas are treated. In the past two years, patients have gained access to treatments that have been shown to be effective in tumor reduction with fewer side effects than previous cytokine regimens. The NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology™ Kidney Cancer provide sequential recommendations for the management of renal cell carcinomas. This program will present these algorithms and focus on the new approaches that have been incorporated into the guidelines, including the use of drugs, biologics, and diagnostics. Activity Instructions Continuing education credit will be awarded to participants who listen to the presentation and complete the evaluation.
