Program Overview The NCCN 2007 Nursing Program is designed to provide advanced practice oncology nurses with information on a variety of topics integral to quality cancer care. It consists of several presentations focused on the complexities of cancer care, symptom management and supportive care issues, and leading strategies to advance nursing research. This presentation will focus on lung cancer, which remains the leading cause of death from cancer. This presentation will discuss the populations at risk for developing lung cancer and the impact of current screening and preventive programs for the reduction of lung cancer and lung cancer-associated mortality. Educational Objectives Following this activity, participants should be able to do the following:
Intended Audience This educational activity is designed to meet the educational needs of advanced practice nurses who manage patients with cancer.
