Program Overview

This presentation will focus on the latest updates to the NCCN Prevention and Treatment of Infections in Patients with Cancer Guidelines and will include discussion of how to approach fever and neutropenia in patients with cancer.  Prophylaxis and newer treatments associated with severe immunosuppression will also be outlined.

Educational Objectives

Following this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss updates to the NCCN guidelines for prevention and treatment of infections in patients with cancer
  • Explain how these updates will impact management of prevention and treatment of infections in patients with cancer

Intended Audience

This educational activity is designed to meet the needs of physicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals who manage patients with cancer.

Activity Instructions

Continuing education credit will be awarded to participants who listen to the presentation and complete the evaluation.  Participants should review the learning objectives and faculty disclosure statements prior to listening to a presentation in its entirety.  You must be connected to the Internet in order to review and complete the evaluation form.  A statement of credit will be electronically generated once you complete the evaluation form.  To receive credit, this activity must be completed no later than May 11, 2008.  There is no fee for participating in this activity.
