Access NCCN Templates® within Your Electronic Health Record

By Elyse Becker, Senior Business Development Specialist, NCCN

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) continues to add to the library of NCCN Chemotherapy Order Templates (NCCN Templates®) to improve the safe use of drugs and biologics in cancer care. The NCCN Templates®, derived from the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®), include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, supportive care agents, monitoring parameters, and safety instructions to improve the safe use of drugs and biologics in cancer care. Special instructions for self-administered chemotherapeutic agents are also provided.

A goal of the NCCN Templates is to enhance patient safety by empowering health care providers to standardize patient care, reduce medical errors, and anticipate and manage adverse events.

NCCN has collaborated with Cerner, Epic, Flatiron, and most recently, MEDITECH, to integrate the NCCN Templates into its Electronic Health Record (EHR).
