July NCCN Academy to Focus on ACA, Pricing, and Quality in Oncology Care
On July 10 – 11, 2013, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) will host the NCCN Academy for Excellence & Leadership in Oncology™ School of Pharmaceutical & Biotech Business at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
The two-day event, to be moderated by Clifford Goodman, PhD, of the Lewin Group, and Robert W. Carlson, MD, Chief Executive Officer of NCCN, is an educational forum for pharmaceutical and biotech professionals to participate in and observe interactions with key stakeholders. Participants will improve their working knowledge of key business, policy, coverage, reimbursement, informational, and operational issues in oncology, while gathering valuable insights into developing effective strategies for navigating the various constituencies in cancer care.
NCCN Academy, in its fifth year, provides its audience with a receptive environment in which to hear directly from thought leaders about what they view to be the most pressing issues in oncology today and how to apply this knowledge to create mutually successful working relationships. Further, participants listen to expert constituents discuss how the decisions and programs are shaped by certain types of information and data, as well as their perspectives on the oncology space, its future, and its current challenges.
The interactive program will address several topics, including the anticipated October 2013 rollout of new health insurance marketplaces through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and its impact on the oncology community; issues surrounding effective pricing of new oncology drugs and devices; and defining quality oncology care. The July NCCN Academy will also feature "Meet the Experts" modules, which will provide expert insights into the consideration and decision-making processes that result in the recommendations of the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®) and perspectives from regulatory and reimbursement experts on current trends and challenges in oncology. Please refer to the agenda for the most up-to-date listing of panelists.
Participants who register before June 28, 2013 will save $100 on registration.
