NCCN Policy Report: Emerging Issues and Opportunities in Health Information Technology

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) hosted the NCCN Policy Summit: Emerging Issues and Opportunities in Health Information Technology, in June 2016. The Policy Summit focused on the challenges in utilizing health information technology (HIT) to improve the quality of, and access to, cancer care. The corresponding article has been published in the October 2016 issue of JNCCN – Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. The article addresses the following topics as discussed at the summit: moving beyond meaningful use, HIT readiness to support and report on quality care, the role of HIT in precision medicine, the role of HIT in the National Cancer Moonshot initiative, and leveraging HIT to improve quality of clinical care.
