NCCN Guidelines for Patients

Adolescents and Young Adults with Cancer, Version 1.2017

Navigating the

treatment process

When you’re Fairly young

and told that you have cancer, it’s easy to play the 'what if ' games

about your future. Instead, I found tremendous comfort in focusing on

the things that I could control, such as taking medications as directed,

taking an active role in educating myself about my disease and my

treatment plan, and ensuring I asked (and received) proper answers to

all my questions.”
