A key feature of ET is a high number of platelets. † † Treatment options are based on risk for blood clots. Aspirin to control symptoms is an option for all risk groups. For high-risk ET, cytoreductive treatment may be an option to reduce blood counts. † † You will need to meet with your doctor often. He or she will assess the status of the cancer and how you feel. † † If the cancer is getting worse, you may receive another type of cytoreductive treatment.
