What is nodular lymphocyte-predominant

Hodgkin lymphoma?

It is a rare type of Hodgkin lymphoma. It is not treated the same as more common types.

What are options for first-time treatment?

Stages I

and II

Stage I and II cancers have grown either above or below your

diaphragm.

Small stage IA and IIA cancers are often treated with radiation

therapy. Some don’t need more treatment if fully removed by biopsy.

Large and other stage I and II cancers are first treated with

chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Rituximab may be added to

these treatments.

Stages III

and IV

Stage III or IV cancers are on both sides of your diaphragm or have

widely spread outside the lymphatic system.

Stage IIIA or IVA cancers may be treated with chemotherapy.

Radiation therapy, rituximab, or both may be added. Other options are

radiation therapy to the cancer site to relieve symptoms or rituximab.

Stage IIIB or IVB cancers may be treated with chemotherapy.

Radiation therapy, rituximab, or both may be added.
