• Following LCIS diagnosis, a medical history,

physical exam, and bilateral diagnostic

mammogram is needed if not done before.

• The breast tumor should be fully removed by

an excisional biopsy. The removed tissue will

be studied by a pathologist, who will look for

other breast diseases.

• Lifestyle changes, endocrine therapy, and

surgery may help to prevent breast cancer.

• Breast cancer screening includes breast

exams by your doctor and yourself as well as

mammograms. You may get a breast MRI as

well.
