Pathways of chemical signals

start cell growth. Within the

pathways are protein kinases.

They move phosphates from

one molecule to another. The

phosphate “turns on” the next

molecule in the pathway.

Kinase inhibitors

Kinase inhibitors block the

transfer of phosphase and in

turn stop growth signals. CDK

inhibitors stop signals with the

nucleus. mTOR inhibitors stop

signals with the cell’s gel-like

substance.
