More than 22,500 oncologists and other cancer care professionals across the United States read JNCCN—Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, with more subscribers overseas. Under the direction of Editor-in-Chief, Margaret A. Tempero, MD, who took the reins in February 2014, thisfully peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed journal has adopted a new vision. Starting in January 2015, JNCCN furthers the mission of NCCN by serving as “the primary resource for information on NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology® (NCCN Guidelines®), innovation in translational medicine, and on scientific studies related to oncology health services research, including quality care and value, patient outcomes, and public policy.
JNCCN continues to feature updates on the NCCN Guidelines®, including the NCCN Guidelines Insights, which provide behind-the-scenes views into the Panel discussions that lead to important changes in the Guidelines. Eachissue of JNCCN also includes “Molecular Insights in Patient Care”—case reports that highlight the growing role of molecular medicine in diagnosis and treatment decisions, including the further evidence needed to bring innovation from individual cases into standard practice.
Finally, JNCCN brings readers departments such as “Oncology Watch,” Dr. Tempero’s timely comments on trends in oncology, and “Inside the ‘Lines,” commentary from NCCN Guidelines panel chairs highlighting changes in and controversies around NCCN Guidelines updates and developments.
Continuing education is available each month for an authored review or research article, the Molecular Insights report, and the NCCN Guidelines Insights. This content will also continue to appear on the NCCN Continuing Education Portal, education.nccn.org.
