NCCN Annual Conference Addresses AI, Drug Shortages, Genetics, Vaccinations, New Research, and Updated Standards for Cancer Care

What:   The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) is hosting the NCCN 2024 Annual Conference—live in Orlando and virtually. The three-day meeting will feature sessions on the latest pressing issues in oncology, including:

  • Treatment Recommendation Updates: The latest evidence-based expert consensus guidance for treating numerous cancer types, including breast, colorectal, lung, pancreatic, and prostate, plus advances in screening and supportive care.
  • Genetics/Hereditary Risk: A plenary session will showcase the experience of a person with Lynch syndrome, and how to provide personalized, patient-centered care for people at higher risk of developing cancer. Another session will address how to harness big data when designing risk identification and early detection programs.
  • Vaccines: Experts will discuss how to navigate special considerations for vaccinations in cancer survivors with compromised immunity, plus a look at recently approved vaccines.
  • Drug Shortages: Exploring the drivers of cancer drug shortages, identifying mitigation approaches for individual practices and health systems, and discussing governmental and policy proposals for long-term solutions.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Oncology: Current and future uses for this emerging technology with a discussion on the ethical concerns and potential biases when applied to healthcare.
  • More than 200 Poster Presentations featuring original research on cancer care, highlighting promising potential new advances. In-person attendees will also have the opportunity to join expert-led tours of the posters.
