Celebrating Long-Serving Board Member Jack Gentile

Jack Gentile has been many things to NCCN and NCCN Foundation over the years including a publisher, board member, advocate, patient, caregiver, and donor. Jack’s career started in medical publishing, including founding Publishing Research and Representation (PRR) Inc, which produced the first five NCCN Conferences, starting in 1995. In 2008 Jack founded Harborside Press, publisher of  JNCCN—Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Jack joined the board of NCCN Foundation in 2010 and was elected to serve as Secretary, a role he continued to serve until his retirement in 2023. Readers of this newsletter may remember Jack sharing his experiences of his and his wife Gerry's cancer diagnoses, his role as a caregiver, and the invaluable education provided by the NCCN Guidelines for Patients®

At the NCCN 2023 Annual Conference held in Orlando from March 30- April 2, NCCN Foundation celebrated the decades-long dedication and contribution of long-time board member Jack Gentile after his retirement from the board. NCCN Foundation Board President Gena Cook and NCCN CEO Dr. Robert Carlson presented Jack with an award commemorating his service. NCCN Foundation is immensely grateful for Jack's many contributions to the education and empowerment of people with cancer so they can live better lives. We wish Jack and Gerry well in their plans to travel and spend time with family. Jack, thank you for all you’ve done for NCCN, NCCN Foundation, and people facing cancer.
